Jungle adventure in Peru

Peru is one of the most amazing countries in the world. And nature is just fabulous there. LUXURY TRAVEL BUTLER has discovered a unique experience in this truly unique country: a jungle adventure in the rain forest. This journey includes a visit of Lima, Cusco and Machupicchu as you explore the country’s history, its wonderful geography and scenery, and the impressive Inca and colonial legacy.

The scene for this experience is the great Manu wilderness in Peru. This area has become synonymous with the best rain forest in the world.

This jungle, pronounced a World Heritage Site in 1987, is still fairly inaccessible by road – which is just great!

Manu is the largest National Park in Peru and has one of highest levels of biodiversity compared with any park in the world. Here you can find 15.000 species of plants, 1.000 species of birds, 250 varieties of trees and so much more.

Upon arrival in Lima, you take a connecting flight to Cusco, wander around the charming colonial streets and pay a visit to the legendary temple of Koricancha, whose walls were once plated with sheets of gold. The next day, you will be taken to the cloud forest. And that’s the start of your great Peru adventure!

The whole programme takes about 13 days. You will pass over the Andean chains, admire burial chambers of the Pre-Inca people and search for Brown Capuchin Monkeys.

Part of your trip is also onboard motor canoes for travelling down the Alto Madre de Dios River and the Manu river.

Also great is an exciting visit to Blanco Oxbow Lake. This lake has populations of a variety of aquatic life and water birds, including the prehistoric-looking hoatzin. And during the late hours, you can search for caiman and other nocturnal life along the riverbank by boat or hike through the night forest.

Your jungle adventure will end again in Cusco, where you will visit the Sacred Valley of the Incas. And the last day of this adventure is also memorable: you will board the Vistadome train to Machu Picchu, the "Lost City of the Incas”. And while you are there, do visit the fabulous Inca Bridge or climb Huayna Picchu. You will be rewarded with impressive views over Machupicchu…
